Project Overview

Trellis is a customizable subscription box service that offers members personally-curated wine boxes each month and an accompanying app. Its goal is to combat wine anxiety by providing members with tools for education and exploration while helping them discover their personal wine preferences.

Defining the Problem

Many people feel intimidated when asked to talk about wine or choose a bottle for purchase. Oftentimes, people feel they don’t have the adequate knowledge of wine and wine terminology, which in turn can make them fearful of being judged by others or feel like they are of a lower social status. Furthermore, wine consumers are inundated with so many options that it makes it difficult to make a choice. Wine anxiety takes the fun out of wine, which is meant to be enjoyable.

Primary research collected through a survey helped us get a better understanding of wine anxiety and the prevalence of this problem.
